A destination like no other: elegant, dramatically beautiful, with a unique flavor of its own.

What once was a small strip of beach and a little fisherman town, later to become the place where whales go to fall in love, is now the paradise in which we ourselves fall in love first with each another and then with beautiful Los Cabos.

The road to paradise is lined with cacti and drastic cliffs. It is a land of serene beauty. On the one hand, the endless Sea of Cortez, turquoise and dotted here and there with jutting rock formations. On the other, undulating deserts rising in cliffs and mountains in the distance. The strange wonder of Los Cabos is undeniable.

Baja California Sur is a state surrounded by the magnificence of the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean that make it a true paradise between two seas; maybe that’s why National Geographic magazine cataloged it as one of the must-visit places last 2017. Los Cabos is located at the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula, which makes it a dynamic mix of desert landscapes, beaches and mountainous areas.

Oftentimes called The Aquarium of the World, the Sea of Cortez is one of the most biodiverse regions in the world and was declared a World Heritage Site in 2005. Between December and March, we can enjoy the sighting of gray, humpback and killer whales that migrate from the distant cold of the Arctic in search of warmer waters, which are a welcome refuge for them to reproduce in, give birth and play with their young.

Nestled between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, Marquis Los Cabos Resort & Spa is a luxury all-inclusive hotel where romance and beauty are the most important factor. Member of The Leading Hotels of the World, it is a super luxury resort, with an open-air lobby and waterfall that falls into one of the three pools (two of which are infinity style and stunning views of the sea.

Paying homage to the land where it is located, sculptures and original works of art by Latin American artists are on display in the lobby and throughout the complex, which provide a true authentic and typical sense.

From the moment we step into Marquis Los Cabos, we find ourselves short of breath. The open-air, arch-walled entrance leaves no doubt we are entering paradise. A huge architectural rainbow frames a birds eye expanse from ocean to sky, palm trees to pools, while a reflective bath floats into the horizon before cascading into a waterfall.

I enjoyed this lovely paradise from one of their spectacular casitas, absolutely pampered through excellent service, wonderful cuisine and unique beauty.

Little details are key. From the ‘Caf Marquis’ that every morning appears in my room, as if by magic, through a small private window, to the professionalism of the waiters and chefs in the restaurants, this luxurious hotel always manages to exceed all expectations of service.

A highlight of Marquis Los Cabos is its Spa. Here, I enjoyed a relaxing massage that has been recognized as one of the Leading Spas in the world, a well-earned designation.

In ever-growing Los Cabos, Marquis finds itself king over a private strip of pristine beach and sparkling ocean. It is a sliver of paradise nestled among the towering mountains of the Baja California desert and the immensity of the Sea of Cortez, comfortable swaying under the love song of romantic whales.
